Hi, I'm Krzysztof Gonia
I'm a Java programmer based in Poland, most at home deep in the JVM. I care about how things actually run under the hood — concurrency, performance, and the runtime — and I especially enjoy following Project Loom and what it means for the way we write concurrent code.
I like sharing what I learn. I've spoken at meetups and conferences such as JUG Wrocław, JUG Poznań, JDD, Javeloper and Warsaw IT Days on topics like Project Loom, Project Leyden, and native compilation with GraalVM. You can find the slides and recordings on my talks page.
Beyond the JVM
Away from Java, I spend a lot of time on generative AI — training and fine-tuning models, and finding ways to make them smaller and faster. That ranges from fine-tuning Stable Diffusion models to distilling large text encoders down into lean, VRAM-friendly ones. A few of these experiments are written up on my projects page, and I share most of the models and code openly.
